One of the premier county fairs in Maryland, the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair, has been captivating residents and visitors alike since its inception in 1949. This year’s theme, Barn in the USA, commemorates America’s 250th anniversary and offers nine days of excitement. The fair will unfold across 62 acres from August 14 to August 22, 2026, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds.

Accessing the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair
The Montgomery County Fairgrounds are conveniently located at 501 Perry Parkway, Gaithersburg, MD 20877. This location is easily reachable for families from various parts of the county, as well as those driving in from nearby metropolitan areas such as Washington, DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Richmond. The fairgrounds are located just off of I-270 with clear signage. If you’re coming from I-270 North, continue through the first traffic light. If you’re traveling from I-270 South, turn left onto Montgomery Village Ave. At the second light, you can turn right onto Route 355 South. A subsequent right at the next light will guide you onto Perry Parkway, with the entrance to the Fairgrounds located on your left.
The fairgrounds offer ample parking for a fee of $20, which can be paid by cash or card. Alternatively, free parking and shuttle services will be available from Montgomery College Rockville and Germantown Campuses. Shuttle buses will operate starting 30 minutes before the fair opens each day and continue until closing time each evening.

The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair promises rides and attractions that cater to guests of all ages. For fans of indulgent snacks, offerings include deep-fried Twinkies, Snickers, Milkways, S’mores, and cheesecake. Additionally, you won’t want to miss the Dickerson Market’s renowned fried chicken, a staple at the fair.
There are also opportunities to pick up fresh produce from various vendors, like the pop-up farm market by Butler’s Orchard or to enjoy a delicious fried ice cream cookie from Dirty Dough. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, be sure to try an Amish-Style Sourdough Donut from Yoders Dutch Delights or a New Orleans Style Snow Ball, customizable with your favorite flavors.
For those wanting something with Mediterranean flair, don’t miss Demitri’s Greek Foods, where freshly carved gyros and other savory dishes await. Alongside their famous gyros, options include tender marinated chicken, juicy pork and steak kabobs, and flavorful souvlaki sandwiches, all delivering authentic Mediterranean tastes.
If you’re looking to enjoy a drink, the Grapes and Grains Garden Tent offers adults aged 21 and older selections of beer, wine, and spirits from local vendors, including Doc Waters Cidery, Lone Oak Brewing, Windridge Vineyards, and Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard. Enjoy live music daily from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM during the fair.
Don’t miss the exciting Giant Wok event on Saturday, August 15! Kicking off at 11:00 AM, witness a massive wok in action preparing fresh, flavorful chicken stir-fry during a large-scale cooking demonstration, available for fairgoers at no charge while supplies last.
Ticket Information and Operating Hours
The fair will be open from Friday, August 14, through Saturday, August 22, providing a dynamic schedule of events throughout the week. On opening day, the fair will commence at 3:00 PM and conclude at midnight. From Sunday to Thursday, gates will open at 10:00 AM and close at 11:00 PM, while the carnival will operate from 12:00 PM until midnight. On both Friday, August 14, and Saturday, August 15, the fair will open at 10:00 AM and again close at midnight.
Admission for children ages 11 and younger is free, while adults can enter for $18 at the gate or $17.05 with online tickets. Additionally, a season pass is available for $96.70, which includes unlimited admissions and parking. Single-day carnival ride wristbands can be purchased online for $33.65.
Upon entering the fairgrounds, the vast range of attractions may become overwhelming; therefore, it’s advisable to print the fair map in advance to ensure you don’t miss your favorite rides or food vendors.
