Adams Morgan: The popular bakery originally from Boston, Tatte, will be opening its newest location on Thursday, January 22. This charming spot, housed in a former Bank of America building, will offer the community a delightful range of breakfast items, brunch options, pastries, and expertly brewed coffee. 1835 Columbia Road NW

Alexandria, Virginia: This month marks the arrival of California Fish Grill in its second Virginia location, which opened on Monday, January 12. Known for its commitment to “100-percent sustainable” seafood, this fast-casual eatery offers made-to-order bowls, tacos, salads, and grilled plates, featuring favorites like charbroiled Atlantic salmon, branzino, and wild-caught rockfish. Established in 1998, California Fish Grill now boasts over 60 locations across California, Nevada, and Arizona, having made its debut on the East Coast last fall in Fairfax, Virginia. The menu reflects best practices set by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program. 7003A Manchester Boulevard, Alexandria, Virginia

Anacostia: Chef Elias Taddesse, renowned for his work at Shaw’s Mélange and Doro Soul Food, has recently opened DaBo Burger within the newly established Atlas Bridge District Brewery & Tap Room. The name, inspired by the Amharic word for “bread,” is a nod to Taddesse’s fine dining experience. The restaurant features house-made milk buns topped with pearl sugar, and the menu includes four unique burgers influenced by a beloved culinary school snack, pain au lait. Complementing the burgers are milkshakes and the brewery’s popular brews, like the Ponzi IPA. The first 25 patrons on Thursday, January 15, will receive complimentary hand-cut beef tallow fries with each burger purchase. 600 Howard Road SE

Cleveland Park: The beloved Cork Wine Bar has expanded with a new location that opened on Thursday, January 8. This streamlined version features a cozy street-level wine bar and market, plus a mezzanine area ideal for wine tastings, classes, and private events. The 20-seat venue offers an impressive selection of 15 wines by the glass, encompassing sparkling, white, red, rosé, orange, and cider varieties. In addition to light bites like tinned fish, customers can explore a retail collection of approximately 350 bottles to enjoy on-site or take home. Co-owners Khalid Pitts and Diane Gross also operate a retail shop within Pizzeria Paradiso in Spring Valley, making this Cleveland Park site their second standalone location. 3504 Connecticut Avenue NW

Columbia Heights: A new Mexican restaurant, El Jardin, has opened its doors, taking the place of the previously established Cinco Soles. Since early January, this restaurant has been serving a vibrant assortment of ceviche, guacamole, tacos, burritos, fajitas, and enchiladas. The space was formerly home to an Italian eatery called Ossobuco before Cinco Soles. 3416-3418 11th Street NW

U Street: In early January, Pho House opened its doors, offering a diverse menu featuring steaming bowls of Vietnamese noodle soup, banh mi sandwiches, crispy egg rolls, and boba tea. This mini-chain already has a presence in Shaw. 925 U Street NW
