Get Ready for Heavy Traffic: BTS Concerts at M&T Bank Stadium Set to Draw Huge Crowds!

Share

BALTIMORE — The Baltimore City Department of Transportation is alerting drivers and concert attendees about potential traffic disruptions in downtown Baltimore as BTS brings its “Arirang” World Tour to M&T Bank Stadium on Monday and Tuesday.

The globally recognized members of BTS include RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook.

Since making their debut on the international music stage in 2013, the band has achieved significant milestones, including six number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and being named TIME Magazine’s Entertainer of the Year in 2020.

This marks the group’s first tour since 2022.

With both performances fully sold out, an influx of traffic, large crowds, and limited parking availability are anticipated.

Transit Options

Attendees are strongly encouraged to utilize public transportation. To support fans, the MTA’s MARC Train Camden Line will provide late-night service departing from Camden Station at 11:55 p.m. on both nights of the concert.

Additionally, Light Rail service will be enhanced with Express Shuttle Buses commencing at 5 p.m., transporting passengers directly from Glen Burnie/Cromwell and Timonium Fairgrounds to Camden Station. After the concerts, riders can catch Express Shuttle Buses at the Convention Center Light Rail stop.

Driving and Parking

All posted parking restrictions and residential permit regulations will be strictly enforced during the event. Vehicles parked illegally, especially in residential permit zones, will face fines and towing. Attendees whose vehicles are towed can contact 311 or 443-263-2220 for assistance.

Concertgoers opting to drive to the stadium should seek out commercial garages and surface lots located north of the venue and avoid parking in nearby neighborhoods. The department strongly urges attendees who do not have an official stadium parking pass to plan ahead and find off-site commercial parking options.

In anticipation of heavy traffic, the State Highway Administration advises fans traveling on I-95 North to take Exit 53 to access M&T Bank Stadium, while suggesting they avoid Exit 52 from I-95 or BW Parkway-295 to minimize delays.

Rideshare and Drop-Off

All drop-off and pick-up activities for parents and guests should occur in Lot O to alleviate traffic congestion on surrounding streets.

Stadium Gates

Please note that Gates E, F, and the South Gate will remain closed for entry. Gate A West is reserved exclusively for VIP ticket holders.

Road Closures

On Monday, August 10, and Tuesday, August 11, the following road and lane closures will be enforced starting around 3:00 p.m. and lasting until 1:00 a.m. the following morning:

  • The northbound Russell Street Service Drive adjacent to M&T Bank Stadium will be closed between West and Hamburg Streets prior to and during the concerts.
  • The Hamburg Street Bridge will temporarily close between Leadenhall and Paca Streets to facilitate event entry. Once the concerts commence, the closures will be lifted until shortly before the events conclude.
  • The Ostend Street Bridge will also be temporarily closed between Sharp and Warner Streets for concert entry access, with similar reopening conditions as Hamburg Street Bridge.
  • A special traffic pattern will be set up along Warner Street, from the Ostend Street Bridge to Stockholm Street, to manage event traffic flow.
  • Also, special traffic patterns will be installed along Warner Street, Alluvion Street, Worcester Street, and Bayard Street for concert egress as the events wind down.
  • Hamburg Street will be closed between Hanover and Charles Streets at the end of the concerts.
  • No southbound travel will be permitted along Hanover Street between Henrietta and Hamburg Streets near the concert’s conclusion, with all traffic diverted onto Henrietta Street for east or westbound options.

Special Traffic Pattern along Warner Street

Due to ongoing construction, Warner Street is closed between Worcester and W. Ostend Streets. To manage event traffic effectively, a special traffic pattern will be implemented along Warner Street, including a designated one-way lane for entering (northbound) and exiting (southbound) traffic, along with a pedestrian walkway.
