For food enthusiasts planning to visit Maryland’s neighboring Virginia in the upcoming year, there’s exciting news. Baltimore’s restaurant, foraged., will be taking on the daily operations of The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm, located in Lovettsville, Virginia.
The Virginia eatery is set to reopen its doors in early 2026, blending the highly seasonal creations that foraged. diners cherish with The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm’s commitment to sustainable farming practices, educational initiatives, and exceptional hospitality.
Chef-owner Chris Amendola of foraged., who has been nominated for a James Beard Award in the “Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic” category, expressed his excitement, stating, “It’s a lifelong dream come true to manage the operations of the farm restaurant.”
Amendola further shared, “Being given the opportunity to lead the next chapter of Patowmack Farm is a significant honor. Our mission is to maintain what makes this venue so special while infusing our distinctive approach—rooted in seasonality, craftsmanship, and a sincere connection with the land.”
This announcement of reopening comes after owner Beverly Morton Billand declared earlier this year that The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm would close on August 31, 2025.
However, the restaurant is poised for a rejuvenation.
Billand commented, “This reopening signifies continuity rather than a shift in spirit. It represents a thoughtful and significant transfer of the culinary legacy that has characterized the restaurant for many years. It’s incredibly satisfying to see the restaurant advance under the stewardship of someone who honors its values while bringing fresh energy and insight. Patowmack Farm was always designed to develop and adapt. As this next chapter commences, it’s immensely gratifying to know the restaurant will be in skilled hands.”
Before the grand reopening next year, foraged. will be hosting a New Year’s Eve celebration at The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm, showcasing passed appetizers crafted from ingredients sourced from the winter micro-season.
