The Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore is excited to announce the return of its Waterfront Week event series, aimed at launching the summer season with a range of engaging activities designed to celebrate the harbor.
Marina McCaney, the brand strategist for the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore, shared insight into the event’s intent: “We aimed to organize a week that encompasses everything we typically offer throughout the year, allowing people to experience what we do in one exciting format. This event will set the tone for an entire summer filled with extensive live music, recreational activities, and artistic endeavors.”
Mark your calendars: Waterfront Week is officially scheduled to take place from Friday, June 5, through Sunday, June 14. This week-long celebration will feature a medley of live performances, recreational options, and other planned festivities throughout the district.
The event will kick off with the Inner Harbor Kayak Launch, which will include a special ribbon-cutting ceremony and the grand opening of a new kayak rental facility. This launch marks a significant step in promoting the Inner Harbor as a destination for recreation.
Another primary objective of Waterfront Week is to emphasize that the Inner Harbor is open and ready for visitors eager to engage in outdoor activities. Jessie Benson, the founder and CEO of B’More SUP, whose company will host several events during the week, expressed her hopes for the series to inspire locals to take advantage of Baltimore’s waterfront. “I believe it’s a fantastic initiative,” Benson stated. “From our inception, our goal has been to encourage more people to enjoy the harbor through recreational paddling, so this kickoff aligns perfectly with our mission.”
Several exciting highlights are slated for the week, including Pride Day at the American Visionary Art Museum on June 6, the Baltimore Floatilla 2026 event, and the Maryland Science Center’s celebration of its 50th anniversary on June 13.
Many waterfront businesses and organizations will be joining in on the festivities by offering special deals and promotions. The Waterfront Partnership encourages local business owners and organizations interested in participating to submit their events or special offers to be included in the week’s lineup.
Molly Ricks, deputy director of Baltimore Heritage—the nonprofit organization focused on historic preservation in the city—shared her enthusiasm for the event. “We’re thrilled to offer Inner Harbor boat tours as part of this celebration. Experiencing the water from the harbor provides a unique perspective of our city, and our mission is to encourage as many people as possible to enjoy that experience,” Ricks noted.
The Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore is a nonprofit organization committed to enhancing and advocating for the waterfront district’s parks and public areas. They manage the Waterfront Management Authority, which covers the business improvement district that includes Fell’s Point, the Inner Harbor, Harbor East, and Harbor Point.
