The much-anticipated Howard County Restaurant & Craft Beverages Weeks are set to commence on Monday, running through August 9.
Howard County Executive Calvin Ball expressed enthusiasm in a recent statement, highlighting that, “Our Howard County Restaurant & Craft Beverage Weeks is not only a wonderful opportunity to showcase the incredible talent, creativity, and hospitality of our local chefs, brewers, distillers, wineries, and beverage artisans, but it also affords us the opportunity to support our neighborhood businesses, strengthen our local economy, create jobs, and celebrate the diverse flavors that bring our community together.”
A total of forty-three restaurants across Howard County will participate in this two-week event, featuring exclusive menus and special offers for patrons.
Among the participating establishments is River House on Main, a pizza bistro that recently celebrated its soft opening. This new eatery takes over the Old Ellicott City location that was once home to Tersiguel’s, which closed its doors after 50 years in December.
Chef Nathan Sowers from River House on Main expressed his excitement about the upcoming event, stating they look forward to welcoming both loyal customers and newcomers.
“We’re thrilled to participate in Howard County Restaurant & Craft Beverage Weeks as we celebrate returning home to Historic Ellicott City with River House on Main, the new River House Pizza Co. Pizzeria Bistro concept,” Sowers mentioned. He went on to explain, “Restaurant Weeks are a great opportunity to experience our expanded menu featuring handcrafted pizzas, French and Italian-inspired bistro cuisine, and weekend brunch in one of Ellicott City’s beautifully restored historic buildings. We look forward to welcoming both longtime River House Pizza Co. guests and first-time visitors.”
Additionally, participants in the Local HoCo Open Rewards app can enjoy a 10% cash back incentive when dining at these establishments, which is an increase from the usual 5%. New subscribers to the Open Rewards program will also receive a $5 reward for signing up during Howard County Restaurant & Craft Beverages Weeks.
Amanda Hof, the executive director of Visit Howard County, noted in a statement, “Open Rewards builds on the Local HoCo campaign by creating a simple, accessible way for residents and visitors to support locally owned businesses across Howard County. Running the program alongside Summer Restaurant and Craft Beverage Weeks continues our commitment to supporting the long-term vitality of our local business community.”
Participants in the app can earn rewards year-round by shopping at local businesses that are registered with Visit Howard County, Old Ellicott City, and the Howard County Economic Development Authority. Customers can identify these participating businesses by looking for the Local HoCo seal.
