Emmetson Zeah has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, in addition to 70 extra years, for the tragic shooting deaths of 16-year-old Michael Robertson and 15-year-old Blake McCray in February 2025.

A 19-year-old man from Columbia, Maryland, faces a lifetime behind bars following the violent deaths of two teenagers outside The Mall in Columbia.

Emmetson Zeah received a sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, coupled with an additional 70 years, for the shooting deaths of 16-year-old Michael Robertson and 15-year-old Blake McCray in February 2025.

As outlined in a press release, Zeah was convicted on multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree murder, first-degree assault, using a firearm in a violent crime, retaliation against a witness, reckless endangerment, as well as various firearms-related crimes.

However, he was acquitted of one charge related to obstructing justice.

The Howard County Police Department reported that the shooting occurred just before 6 p.m. on February 22, 2025. The incident took place in the parking lot and bus stop area near Lidl, located in the 10300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway.

Michael Robertson succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while Blake McCray was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Prosecutors presented compelling evidence during the trial, including surveillance video, eyewitness testimonies, GPS tracking, and Zeah’s own admissions, which confirmed his presence at the scene of the crime. Additionally, a search of his residence uncovered a firearm.

Howard County State’s Attorney Rich Gibson commented on the sentencing, stating that it “reflects the devastating consequences of a calculated act of violence” and guarantees that Zeah “will never again have the opportunity to inflict harm on our community.”
