Germantown, MD — A new bakery is coming to Germantown, as popular French café Fresh Baguette prepares to open a new location at 19548 Amaranth Drive, near Middlebrook Road. The new Germantown café is scheduled to open on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, bringing fresh breads and pastries to the growing community.
The Germantown opening will feature special promotions for local residents. All customers who stop by on opening day will receive a free baguette, while the first 20 guests in line will earn free croissants for a year. Additional giveaways and prizes will be offered throughout the day.
As part of the celebration, Fresh Baguette will host a fundraiser supporting a local nonprofit, highlighting its commitment to giving back to the Germantown and Montgomery County community.
Fresh Baguette was founded in 2013 by Florent de Felcourt, a former French naval officer who set out to introduce traditional French baking techniques to the Washington, D.C. area. The bakery has since expanded across Montgomery County, with locations in Bethesda, Rockville, and now Germantown.
The Germantown café will continue Fresh Baguette’s artisanal tradition, using stone ovens imported from France and a slow, cold-fermentation process with homemade levain. This approach produces baguettes and croissants that are crisp, airy, and freshly baked daily.
With its location near Middlebrook Road and established production facility, the new Fresh Baguette café is expected to become a convenient stop for Germantown residents, commuters, and nearby neighborhoods looking for authentic French bread, pastries, and café favorites.
