A significant incident occurred on Friday night when a tractor-trailer descended a hill and narrowly missed colliding with a three-story apartment complex in Rockville, Maryland.
The event took place around 7:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of Baltimore Road, close to Norbeck Road, within Montgomery County.
In response to the situation, hazmat teams were dispatched to evaluate the scene. The tractor-trailer experienced ruptured saddle tanks during the mishap, resulting in a substantial spill of more than 60 gallons of diesel fuel.

Piringer indicated that first responders collaborated with representatives from the Maryland Department of the Environment to manage the cleanup of the fuel spill, ensuring all environmental issues were effectively handled.
Authorities are currently investigating to determine the factors that contributed to the tractor-trailer rolling down the hill.
