The Town of Kensington proudly presents its annual Labor Day Parade, which will be followed by a vibrant festival. This colorful parade showcases the community’s spirit and features an array of floats, marching bands, organizations, and enthusiastic residents of all ages. The parade typically meanders through Kensington’s streets, inviting residents and visitors alike to come out and celebrate together. Kicking off at 10:00 am, the parade will be followed by festivities lasting until 2:00 pm.
Gaithersburg Labor Day Parade
Gaithersburg is set to host its 88th annual Labor Day Parade, celebrated as one of the region’s favorite events that fills the streets of Olde Towne with excitement. Attendees can expect to see high school marching bands, dynamic dance groups, and spirited cheerleaders performing, alongside entertaining costumed characters, clowns, equestrian participants, classic cars, and fire engines. This joyous occasion will proceed regardless of the weather. In addition, food vendors will be available at the Olde Towne Plaza and in the adjacent parking lot by the Gaithersburg-Washington Grove Fire Station.
Paint The Town Labor Day Show
One of the largest celebrations highlighting local artisans takes place in the Town of Kensington. The three-day event, known as the Paint the Town Labor Day Show & Sale, features talented artists from the Montgomery Art Association. Visitors can enjoy live music, engaging art demonstrations, and food trucks, as well as a plein air painting competition open to both children and adults, culminating in an awards ceremony.
Glen Echo Labor Day Art Show
Taking place in the historic Spanish Ballroom, the 55th annual Labor Day Art Show at Glen Echo Park will occur on Labor Day Weekend from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Organized by the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts & Culture, this event is free to enter. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase artwork from over 200 local artists showcasing their talents.
