A local woman decided to cut her first date short on August 22 after experiencing a series of uncomfortable conversations centered around finances. The woman, who shares her experiences on TikTok under the handle @caldo.de.les, recounted the evening in a video that has garnered over 24,000 likes. She humorously referred to it as her last date of 2026.
The woman explained that the man had persistently asked her out before they finally met at a Texas Roadhouse. However, instead of engaging in light conversation, he focused on the credit scores of strangers nearby and inquired about her car. When she mentioned she drove a 2023 Toyota Camry, he compared it to his own vehicle and boasted about his plans to become a millionaire within a year. Additionally, he commented on her nursing career, suggesting she should feel fortunate since nurses typically earn more than many other professions.
The woman noted that the man chose the restaurant with the assumption it was “in your budget.” After enduring the awkward exchanges, she seized the opportunity during his bathroom break to pay for her appetizer and leave for a boot shopping trip instead.
