A resident of Clarksburg has struck it lucky, winning a $50,000 prize from the Maryland Lottery after purchasing a Bonus Match 5 ticket during a grocery trip to Wegmans in Germantown.
The winner, who usually plays Multi-Match, opted for a quick-pick Bonus Match 5 ticket that covered six drawings from September 4 to September 9. This ticket, bought at the Wegmans located at 20600 Seneca Meadows Parkway, matched all five numbers drawn on September 7: 1, 21, 24, 33, and 34, securing the game’s top prize.
According to the Maryland Lottery, the retired winner was in disbelief, checking her ticket six times before accepting that she had won. As of September 25, when she claimed her prize, she and her husband had only shared the exciting news with their children. The couple has not yet made any specific plans for the winnings. Wegmans will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
