Sondheim 2026 Art Prize Finalists: Award Ceremony

The current installment of the Janet & Walter Sondheim Art Prize Finalists Exhibition features the works of five distinguished artists: Thea Canlas, Leigh Davis, Brandon Donahue-Shipp, Curran Hatleberg, and Danni O’Brien. This esteemed competition offers a $30,000 fellowship aimed at furthering the careers of visual artists or collaborative teams residing in the greater Baltimore area. Attendees at this ceremony will be among the first to celebrate the 2026 winner while engaging with members of Baltimore’s vibrant arts community.
The 21st annual Janet & Walter Sondheim Art Prize Finalists Exhibition is co-hosted with Create Baltimore and is on display at The Walters from June 25 through September 13, located in Level 2 of Hackerman House at One West Mount Vernon Place.
FEMME is an innovative contemporary art fair focused on empowering women by showcasing them as artists, leaders, and influential economic contributors. Launching in Washington, D.C. on Women’s Equality Day, FEMME aims to create a platform that brings together artists from across the nation along with collectors, brands, civic leaders, and the public to foster dialogue, commerce, and cultural progress.
Founded by USAN USAN and Our Daughters’ Futures Fund, FEMME is not just an exhibition; it is a movement aimed at providing resources, visibility, and opportunities directly to women artists, ensuring that 100% of artwork sales benefit the artists themselves.
This initiative is backed by the generous support of Women Moving Millions and Women Connect4Good.

The much-anticipated DIY music festival, Subscape, returns for its third year, bringing a three-day, three-stage extravaganza featuring over 60 bands, celebrating Baltimore’s thriving underground music scene. Like its predecessors, including Ratscape and Whartscape, Subscape is a completely DIY, all-volunteer initiative aimed at uplifting local artists and musicians.
WHAT SETS THIS FESTIVAL APART? IT IS TOTALLY FREE TO ATTEND!
The festival is scheduled to run from August 28th to August 30th at Current Space and Le Mondo.
