Although the weather outside is quite chilly, Baltimore’s dining scene is heating up with enticing reasons for food enthusiasts to layer up and venture out for dinner. Here’s a roundup of the exciting happenings this week:

Announcements

Join us in celebrating Sotto Sopra, which recently marked its remarkable 30-year anniversary! The restaurant’s owners have exciting plans for a year-long celebration ahead.

In unfortunate news, Morton’s Steakhouse, a cornerstone of downtown dining and happy hours, has officially closed, along with its host, the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel.

Restaurant Week is Here

It’s peak season for local Restaurant Weeks, making it the perfect opportunity to secure your reservations.

Harford and Baltimore County’s Restaurant Weeks commence on January 16 and continue until January 25. Meanwhile, Howard County’s celebration kicks off on January 19, and Live! Casino and Hotel will host its restaurant week from January 18 through January 29.

The highly anticipated Baltimore Restaurant Week will wrap up the month starting on January 23, and running until February 1.

Additionally, several restaurants under the Atlas Restaurant Group umbrella are engaging in a philanthropic effort called Dine to Donate, with proceeds benefiting the Y.

Golden Days at The Point

From now through early February, The Point in Towson is embracing a delightful theme with Golden Girls-themed events. The fun lineup includes happy hours, brunches, trivia nights, and karaoke, all set in a vibrant environment styled in homage to this iconic television series.

Damn Near Beer Fest

This Sunday, True Chesapeake and Whitehall Mill will host the Second Annual Damn Near Beer Fest, embracing the spirit of Dry January.

The fest will showcase over thirty different non-alcoholic beers and beverages from a variety of brewers, complete with complimentary samples, engaging drinking games, food vendors, and more.

Additionally, many local establishments are wholeheartedly supporting Dry January, featuring a selection of spirit-free beverages on their menus, including Bunny’s, Vivian’s, and Alexander’s Tavern.

Gaming Sips at Patterson Pins

If Dry January isn’t appealing to you, don’t fret! Numerous local venues continue to celebrate with an array of exceptional alcoholic options. One such spot, Patterson Pins, features master mixologist Shaun Stewart’s new cocktail menu, “Pins Versus the World,” which offers ten cocktails inspired by classic arcade games.

This unique menu, which will run for six months, is the product of careful thought and design, where each drink showcases particular elements that evoke nostalgic gaming experiences. For instance, the “Take You for a Ride” cocktail embodies the essence of teamwork found in the game Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Après Ski Wine Supper

On Friday, January 23, Chef’s Expressions will host its first wine supper of the year at The Gramercy Mansion, featuring an enticing Après Ski theme that includes delicious fondue, followed by a five-course meal inspired by alpine flavors paired with exquisite wines.

Boordy Wine Dinners

After returning from a successful series of chef-led dinners to commemorate its 80th birthday last year, Boordy Vineyards has announced more wine dinners for 2026. Tickets are available now for this highly anticipated event series.

This year’s lineup includes an impressive array of chefs such as Chad Gauss from The Food Market, Brian Lavin of Costiera, MasterChef’s Michael Leonard, and others contributing their culinary expertise.
