Wineries

Windridge Vineyards
15700 Darnestown Road, Darnestown

This family-owned farm winery boasts over 50 years of expertise. Their wines are crafted from grapes cultivated in their vicinity, benefiting from the unique micro-climate and terroir of the Piedmont Plateau region. The family is deeply committed to preserving the land for generations to come while minimizing their environmental impact.

61 Vineyard
28712 Kemptown Road, Damascus

Nestled in Up County, the winemakers at 61 Vineyard have developed a profound love for wine through their tours of local and international wineries. After attending wine camp and getting involved with the Maryland Wineries Association, they successfully crafted wines on their family farm, where four generations have worked together.

The Crossvines
16601 W. Willard Road, Poolesville, MD

More than just a winery, The Crossvines serves as a community hub. Located in the agricultural reserve, it combines a winery, bistro, and golf course, alongside being a research farm equipped with its own custom grape-crushing machine. It’s an ideal destination for a weekend escape.

Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard
18125 Comus Road, Poolesville, MD

Offering picturesque rural views, Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard lies at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain. Guests can enjoy complimentary wine tours, sample a flight of four wines, or explore their complete wine selection. Feel free to bring a picnic to relish on the lush green spaces, or order from the array of food trucks that rotate every weekend.

The Urban Winery
2315 Stewart Avenue, Silver Spring, MD

The Urban Winery stands as Maryland’s first urban wine experience. It provides wine tastings and educational classes to enhance your understanding of the wines you’re enjoying. Guests can also participate in a winemaking experience led by the winery’s expert. Beyond tastings and tours, they host unique events like yoga sessions with wine or creative decorating classes paired with delightful sips.

Mead

Clear Skies Meadery
325 Main Street, Gaithersburg, MD

Experience the ancient beverage of mead at Clear Skies Meadery. This traditional drink is brewed with raw, unfiltered honey, and every aspect of production is handled in-house in Gaithersburg. The makers prioritize keeping the mead at its freshest and most vibrant color by avoiding filtration. After enjoying your mead, try sniffing your glass to identify the type of honey used in that batch.
