BALTIMORE — Renowned R&B artist Brent Faiyaz teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club and the Baltimore Ravens to host his annual Faiyaz Freedom to Breathe Foundation Holiday Party, spreading festive joy and creative opportunities to hundreds of children in the local area.

More than 300 kids from Baltimore and Howard County gathered in the gymnasium of the new Ravens Boys and Girls Club for a day filled with celebration. The young guests enjoyed dancing, received gifts, participated in prize-winning activities, and even had the chance to meet special guests like the Ravens mascot Poe and Brent Faiyaz himself.

“It’s amazing to see how much this has grown compared to last year and the year before,” Faiyaz shared, reflecting on the event’s expansion.

This annual holiday gathering embodies the singer’s commitment to giving back to his roots, an experience his mother describes as his most cherished time of the year.

“It’s crucial to remember that he comes from a similar background, and what he’s doing with his blessings holds significant value,” said Jeannette Wood, the executive director of the Faiyaz Freedom to Breathe Foundation.

This year, the foundation went beyond just the holiday festivities by establishing a creative content studio at the Boys and Girls Club. This new space provides young individuals with opportunities to delve into their creative interests across various entertainment mediums.

“In the DMV area, especially in Maryland, things often revolve around education, sports, or politics. So, to introduce entertainment and give these kids access to something they frequently engage with is essential. Now they have a place to create, record, podcast, and even pursue a career as a YouTuber. This is something that the community truly needs, and I’m thrilled to be part of it,” Faiyaz remarked.

Jeff Breslin, the CEO of Boys and Girls Club Metro Baltimore, underscored the importance of collaborative efforts and community gatherings.

“The vibe in the building embodies the spirit for which this club was created — to allow kids to be kids, to unite, and recognize that people genuinely care about them. The collaboration of the Faiyaz family and the Ravens injects energy into this community, sparking a sense of wonder among the children that is truly remarkable,” Breslin noted.

Faiyaz reiterated his dedication to fostering community support and empowering local youth to achieve their dreams.

“What I genuinely want to do is gift them not only creativity but also the sense of possibility. I want them to understand that they can accomplish anything they aspire to and reach any destination they choose. That’s the key message we’re hoping to convey while we’re here,” he said.

The artist anticipates that next year’s holiday celebration will surpass this year’s success.
