The Maryland House & Garden Pilgrimage is returning to Baltimore on May 30, featuring ten impressive locations for attendees to explore on the city’s south and west sides. Notable stops include the Mount Clare Museum, the birthplace of Babe Ruth, and the final resting place of Edgar Allan Poe.
This event marks the second tour in Baltimore City this spring. The Pilgrimage plays a crucial role in preserving Maryland’s culturally and historically significant sites. Participants will have the unique opportunity to explore exceptional interiors and gain insights into Maryland’s rich architectural history.
On April 25, the Pilgrimage showcased 12 historic sites in Mount Vernon during an event that successfully raised over $40,000 for the restoration and revitalization of the Mount Vernon Place Church.
The May 30 event is the fifth in a series of seven tours organized for this year. It will highlight industrial buildings, workers’ rowhouses, and cultural landmarks that narrate Baltimore’s vibrant history. The event is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with key stops including the following:
- Brown Memorial Park Avenue Presbyterian Church
- Lillie Carroll Jackson Civil Rights Museum
- P.S. 103 Thurgood Marshall Amenity Center
- Juanita Jackson and Clarence Mitchell Jr. House & Mitchell Family Law Offices (exterior only)
