Two exciting events are on the horizon to celebrate Baltimore’s beloved Mr. Trash Wheel, and the Waterfront Partnership along with the Healthy Harbor Initiative is eager to share the details.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 6–9 p.m. as we gather at the Public Works Experience to celebrate Mr. Trash Wheel’s Earth Day Birthday. This annual event is a wonderful tribute to Baltimore’s cherished aquatic trash collector, featuring an evening filled with art, music, and festivities along the waterfront.

This year’s celebration promises a gallery showcasing fan art dedicated to Mr. Trash Wheel, alongside a vibrant outdoor lawn party. Attendees can look forward to interactive activities that honor sustainability and the camaraderie of fellow fans, creating a truly memorable homage to our googly-eyed hero of the environment!
Additionally, visitors will be treated to a Special Advance Screening of the “Mr. Trash Wheel (Hero of the Harbor)” music video, giving everyone an exclusive first peek before its public debut.
For those eager to participate in the video shoot, there’s still an opportunity! The final filming has been rescheduled to Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 4 p.m. just outside the Maryland Science Center. Supporters are encouraged to don Trash Wheel attire and costumes to energize the scene while the featured band, The Lost Pythons, performs their original song.

The extended family of Mr. Trash Wheel includes Professor Trash Wheel (a huge Beyoncé fan) living in Canton, Captain Trash Wheel (who enjoys bird watching) at Masonville Cove, and Gwynnda the Good Wheel of the West (a big supporter of anything purple and Ouija boards) in Gwynns Falls. Together, the Trash Wheel Family has achieved significant environmental milestones over more than a decade, including the implementation of bans on polystyrene containers and single-use plastic bags across Baltimore City and County.
Since arriving at the Inner Harbor in 2014, Mr. Trash Wheel and his expanding family have managed to remove over 3,681 tons of trash and debris, effectively safeguarding Baltimore’s waterways. Now, that’s an impressive record!
