The beginning of March brings a captivating array of events to the Baltimore dining scene, showcasing everything from renowned cocktails to wine initiatives that support meaningful causes. Here’s what’s on the horizon:

New Openings & Updates

Hana Sushi in Hampden celebrated its grand opening last week in the previously occupied space of Souvlaki.

On March 5, the much-anticipated Power Plant Live! location will unveil the famous Philly staple, Geno’s Steaks. Check it out!

As March kicks off, Kneads is rolling out its exciting new spring menu starting March 2. Similarly, The Corner Pantry will softly introduce spring flavors with delightful offerings like hot cross buns.

Liquid Courage at the BMI

On Saturday, February 28, the Baltimore Museum of Industry will host its annual Liquid Courage celebration. This event highlights the city’s rich history in distilling and cocktail creation, presenting a night filled with tastings, engaging discussions, and fun learning experiences.

Skating & Snacks

Join the festivities on Saturday afternoon as Middle Branch Park welcomes a free ice skating event, part of the 3rd Annual Youth Resiliency Institute Winter Activation. Along with complimentary skating and guest appearances by champion figure skaters, attendees can enjoy delicious food from Shareef’s Grill, Get Da Scoop, Hadiya’s Sweet Treats, and Concessions by Ashley, providing the perfect energy boost for an action-packed day on the ice.

British Classics at The Corner Pantry

On Thursday, March 5, The Corner Pantry will host a cooking class centered on traditional British cuisine. This marks the beginning of a spring series, which will also include a class on salads and dressings on April 2, followed by a pasta and dumplings class on May 7.

In Service of the Bay at True Chesapeake

Also on March 5, True Chesapeake, in collaboration with The Vineyards at Dodon, will present a panel discussion that addresses sustainable farming practices and their effects on the Chesapeake Bay. Titled “In Service of the Bay,” this discussion will feature insights from experts at the Maryland Department of Agriculture and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

Your ticket includes a glass of Dodon wine, fresh True Chesapeake oysters, and an assortment of hors d’oeuvres.

Chefs Cycle Dinner at Gunther & Co.

March 5 will also mark the occasion of Gunther & Co.’s six-course wine dinner featuring wines from the Williamette Valley. This special evening, highlighting a range of sparkling, white, and pinot noir selections, serves as a fundraiser for Chefs Cycle supporting No Kid Hungry.

Cocktails at Cosima

On Friday, March 6, Cosima will host a cocktail-making class. Renowned bartender John Brown will guide participants in crafting three unique and creative drinks.

Maryland Vegan Restaurant Week

The much-anticipated Maryland Vegan Restaurant Week kicks off its 18th season on March 6. From March 6 through March 18, local restaurants will highlight plant-based options on their menus, offering innovative specials and delectable vegan dishes.

The week will commence with a launch party at Bar V 2.0 on March 5, starting at 6 p.m. Participating restaurants include Golden West Café, The Land of Kush, Miss Shirley’s Café, Bar V 2.0, Towson Hot Bagel, Slutty Vegan, The Lord Baltimore Hotel & LB Tavern, Cypriana, Nepenthe Brewing, Underground Pizza, Oleum, Little Havana, HEX Superette, The Verandah, Red Emma’s, The Natural Juice Bar, Rooted 3 Market, and Jubilation Plant Based Kitchen.
