Police apprehend suspect linked to fatal shooting of 62-year-old in Dundalk

DUNDALK, Md. —

Authorities have arrested a man in Pennsylvania in connection with the shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 62-year-old man in Dundalk, as reported by WBAL-TV 11 News.

In a statement released on Friday evening, the Baltimore County police announced that they are working on extraditing the suspect back to Maryland.

The police received a call about the shooting at approximately 2:10 p.m. on Thursday, which took place on the unit block of Shipping Place.

Upon arriving at the location, officers discovered Anthony Storms, the victim, who had sustained gunshot wounds and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The scene was chaotic, with the shooter reportedly firing about a dozen rounds, leaving the local community in a state of shock and mourning.

“I saw my best friend lying on the ground while another person attempted to perform CPR on him. I could see that he wasn’t moving, and it was evident that he was lifeless,” recounted Anthony Miller, a friend of Storms.

The rapid-fire shooting affected multiple areas, notably damaging a nearby pool, parked vehicles, and the surrounding neighborhood, with one bullet even recovered from the grass the following morning.

Witnesses described the suspect as a man in his sixties using a cane who fled the scene immediately after the shooting.

“This was a senseless act of violence that didn’t need to occur. The individual responsible must face justice,” Miller emphasized.

As reported by witnesses, the suspect and Storms had engaged in a fistfight two weeks prior, during which he had made threats to return.

The victim’s family expressed their profound sorrow over his tragic passing.

“The last 24 hours have been incredibly difficult. We received the news, and it was utterly shocking. My mother got the phone call. We couldn’t believe it was him. It’s been very, very disturbing,” said a relative of Storms.

Various witnesses and sources have informed the authorities about the identity of the shooter, his ties to the area, how he managed to escape, and where he may currently be located.

“Regardless of the situation or what might have been happening, there is no valid reason for someone to take another person’s life,” stated another community member.

A memorial for Anthony Storms has been created at the shooting site, situated beneath a tree where one good Samaritan reportedly provided CPR for ten minutes until emergency services arrived.

Family members confirmed that Storms passed away the same day at Bayview Hospital.
