Students in middle and high school are invited to participate in Germantown’s third annual Back-to-School Block Party on Friday, September 18. This community event will take place at the BlackRock Center for the Arts.

The afternoon will feature a variety of activities, including back-to-school resources, art projects, free food, and a soccer skills station, among other attractions.

Coinciding with the block party, Montgomery County Public Schools has arranged for a half day of classes on the same date.

“We look forward to hosting students after the MCPS half-day so they can continue to spend time with their friends while learning about the unique local resources available to them,” said Council Vice President Marilyn Balcombe. “The Block Party has grown every year, and I am excited to gather with our students for fun, food, and connection.”

Participants will also have the chance to earn 2.5 service learning hours by attending the event.

For those interested, the BlackRock Center for the Arts is located at 12901 Town Commons Dr, Germantown, MD 20874, USA.
