The inaugural festival was held from December 3-5, 2014, at the historic Charles Theatre, a notable venue located in one of Baltimore’s most significant areas.

Thursday, October 8 :: 6:00-7:30 PM
@ The Ivy Bookshop
Join us for an engaging event with architect Steve Ziger, whose firm Ziger|Snead designed The Ivy Bookshop. We are pleased to announce the celebration of his newly published book, While Away: An Architect’s Travel Sketches, at this venue.
This remarkable book is a combination of memoir, travel narrative, drawing guide, and architectural history, showcasing 240 sketches in ink, pencil, and watercolor accumulated over five decades. Ziger intricately weaves his personal journey with insightful commentary on the built environment and the exceptional possibilities of design shaped by human intent. This timely collection encourages readers to appreciate their surroundings and the vital role of drawing in enhancing observation, learning, and understanding of different places.
He will converse with the esteemed Elizabeth Evitts Dickinson, the author of one of the bestselling biographies at The Ivy, Claire McCardell. This promises to be a unique event, and we hope you will join us!
