Construction is well underway for the new Triveni Supermarket in Germantown, which is set to be the first location for the chain in Montgomery County. The Indian and South Asian grocery store aims to open its doors by the end of this year.
Earlier this year, Triveni secured a lease for the former Big Lots site located at 20926 Frederick Rd in the Milestone Shopping Center. The supermarket will offer a wide range of products, including Indian and South Asian groceries, spices, halal meats, fresh produce, household items, pooja samagri, and kitchen utensils.
In addition to groceries, Triveni will feature an in-house bakery and a food court serving ready-to-eat Indian cuisine, sweets, and baked goods. The bakery is expected to provide a variety of items such as biscuits, puffs, pastries, wraps, and cakes.
When the plans were first announced in July, no specific opening date was available, but the goal was to have the store operational by the end of 2026. With construction visibly progressing, the timeline for opening remains on track.
Triveni has been expanding its footprint across the United States, with locations in North Carolina, Texas, South Carolina, and Virginia, as well as an existing store in Ellicott City, Maryland.
