Though no one really needs a reason to enjoy pie, this gathering captures the essence of the mathematical holiday with a relaxed potluck atmosphere. Guests are encouraged to bring one pie, whether it’s sweet or savory. Options can include traditional fruit pies, chess pies, quiches, pizzas, or hearty pot pies.
“This event is about more than just delicious food; it’s about the connections among the people who prepare it,” explained Charlie Urrutia, an organizer for the Farmers Market Supper Club. “In a lively city like Baltimore, we aim to create a welcoming environment where neighbors can share not only their pies but also stories and laughter, free from the stress of competition. If it’s round-ish and tasty, it’s welcome on our table.”
The supper club serves a dual purpose: to unite local home cooks while also promoting regional farming. Participants are encouraged to use at least one ingredient sourced from a local Baltimore farmers market.
