Catch a Free Water Taxi in Baltimore This Festive Weekend!

Share

Baltimore’s Most Festive Weekend, scheduled for December 6-7, offers an abundance of markets, performances, and activities spread across four picturesque waterfront neighborhoods. With so much to explore, shoppers and visitors might find themselves concerned about navigating traffic and parking. Thankfully, the new, complimentary Holiday Harbor Connector water taxi service is here to help.

This service is the result of a partnership between the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore and the Baltimore City DOT. The free water taxi will be available exclusively during this festive weekend. It will conveniently connect Fells Point, Harbor East, Harborplace, Federal Hill, and Locust Point, providing direct access to all holiday events taking place throughout the celebrations. This initiative enjoys support from various local organizations, including Fells Point Main Street, Federal Hill Main Street, and Ginny Lawhorn, the Main Street Advocacy Officer & WPB Board Member, along with Robert La Pin (Sail Local), Christmas Village in Baltimore, and MCB Real Estate.

During the Most Festive Weekend, the waterfront district will be adorned with seasonal decorations, bustling markets, and an array of family-friendly activities. Event highlights include the Fells Point Old Tyme Christmas at Broadway Square, Family Weekend at the Christmas Village located at West Shore Park, Sock Creature Saturday at the American Visionary Art Museum, and the chic Culturally Curated: Chic Sneaks Edition at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture.

Additionally, the Waterfront Partnership will host the Holiday Makers Market at the Harborplace Light Street Pavilion, featuring over 60 local artists, vintage vendors, and small businesses offering festive treats and beverages. The weekend will culminate with the much-anticipated Parade of Lighted Boats on Saturday evening, presented by Sail Baltimore in collaboration with Anchorage Marina. This enchanting boat parade not only celebrates the city’s maritime heritage, but also supports the Southeast Exchange Club Toy Drive, making it one of the longest-running winter events in the area. All these experiences can be effortlessly accessed through the Holiday Harbor Connector.

“The Holiday Harbor Connector provides a seamless way for guests to navigate between neighborhoods and fully enjoy all the programming happening along the waterfront,” stated Dan Taylor, president of the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore. “Starting as Baltimore’s Most Festive Day in 2022 and evolving into a full weekend in 2023, this event has continued to expand. This year’s introduction of free water taxi service enhances connectivity, accessibility, and enjoyment for all. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity!”
