Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services has unveiled the 12th episode of its podcast series, Spirited Discussions. All states regulate alcohol through licensing and oversight. However, in a control system, the government also sells alcoholic beverages at both wholesale and retail levels, using the generated revenue to fund public programs and infrastructure. Approximately 25% of the U.S. population resides in areas governed by a control jurisdiction for alcohol distribution.

With annual net income reaching tens of millions, its profits help reduce County debt and significantly contribute to the general fund, which supports resident services that would otherwise require funding from County tax dollars.
