New Openings & Announcements
The Market at Hamilton has officially opened its doors this week, much to the excitement of locals. Situated in the former Emma’s Tea Spot location, this new venture, led by the team behind the Silver Queen Café, offers a selection of specialty food items, including a variety of cheeses. The market also features a range of sandwiches and ice cream.
The Kahlert Café, a unique “farm to table” establishment dedicated to employing individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, has opened in Sparks.
In a recent announcement, Councilwoman Odette Ramos informed residents that the cherished Waverly Thai Restaurant will be reopening soon at its new spot on 31st Street.
Furthermore, Chef Andrew Weinzirl is set to introduce Hello Trouble Luncheonette in Hamilton, with a grand opening planned for August.
This week also marks the four-year anniversary of Southpaw. Celebrations are planned for Sunday, featuring live music and pop-up food options from Costiera and Glizzy’s Wagyu Dogs.
Happy anniversary to Rye Street Tavern, which has recently celebrated its two-year milestone since reopening.
Restaurant Weeks
Baltimore City is currently immersed in Restaurant Week, which runs until August 2. Moreover, Howard County will kick off its own Restaurant Week on Monday, July 27. It’s the perfect opportunity to make reservations if you haven’t done so already.
West North Avenue Farmers’ Market
A new monthly farmers’ market is set to launch in the city this Saturday. Housed in the former Greenwood Towing lot on West North Avenue, the market opens at 10 a.m. and will feature a variety of local vendors and engaging activities.
Baltimore Afro Food Festival
On Saturday, July 25, the Baltimore Afro Food Festival will take place in Windsor Mill. This ticketed event highlights African and Afro-diasporic cuisines, showcasing culinary offerings from various African and Caribbean nations.
Fête Champêtre
Middle Branch Park will transform into a vibrant garden party on Saturday as Baltimore City Recreation and Parks hosts the third annual Fête Champêtre. The event will feature food trucks, mobile bars, and live music, offering a variety of ticket options for attendees.
Hampden Beach Party
On the same day, visitors to Hampden can enjoy the neighborhood’s Beach Party. There will be a range of food and drink specials, including boardwalk-style fries at Dylan’s, along with activities such as yacht rock karaoke at Frazier’s.
Summer Flavors
From July 23-25, Magdalena is featuring a magnificent five-course tasting menu that showcases the finest summer flavors, which can be complemented by an optional wine pairing.
Hersh’s currently boasts a selection of tomato-centric dishes, including housemade pasta served with ricotta in a fresh tomato sauce.
Vivian’s has launched a summer menu featuring light fare such as spicy watermelon tossed in a zesty cilantro vinaigrette and burrata paired with heirloom tomatoes, pickled peaches, and basil pesto.
Curry Boys at Ekiben
On Sunday, July 26, Ekiben’s Hampden location will welcome Curry Boys BBQ. The menu, available for pre-order only, will include a brisket curry bowl and a pulled pork laab bowl.
Rosé at Cece’s
This Wednesday evening, Cece’s will host a Summer Rosé Garden Party on its patio located in the Cross Keys courtyard. The event will feature a dinner buffet complemented by a selection of Provençale rosés.
Cookhouse x Equitea
On Thursday, July 30, Equitea will pop up at Cookhouse, showcasing a new matcha menu collaboration.
Sagamore Celebrates 250
Sagamore Whiskey will celebrate America’s 250th anniversary on Thursday, coinciding with Baltimore’s 297th birthday. The festivities include a day of complimentary tastings and guided workshops, along with the opportunity to purchase the limited edition America 250 Straight Rye Whiskey.
TCP Supper Club
Also on Thursday, The Corner Pantry will host the next installment of its Supper Club series, this edition dedicated to the flavors of a summer BBQ. Guests will enjoy passed canapés, gin cocktails from the Spirit Shop, a selection of beers and wines, grilled meats, fresh produce, ice cream, and live music.
Lobsterama Returns
Gertrude’s legendary event, Lobsterama, is back for the month starting next week. Every Thursday in August, diners can savor lobster dinners prepared either New England-style or Maryland-style. Reservations are required for lobster orders, making it a delightful culinary plan.
