The holiday season is quickly approaching, bringing a wealth of markets to explore. WTOP has curated a list of over 30 markets in the area that are definitely worth a visit.
The holiday season is just around the corner, and with it comes a delightful array of markets perfect for shopping while indulging in a warm cup of hot cocoa and other festive goodies.
WTOP reached out to the organizers of the D.C. Holiday Market located in the vibrant Dupont Circle district to learn about the exciting changes happening this year.
This year marks the second annual D.C. Holiday Market in Dupont Circle, and shoppers will notice a slight shift in location. The market is relocating from its previous spot on 19th Street NW, near Kramers, to New Hampshire Avenue NW.
Although it’s just a block away from the old site, the new venue offers a larger space compared to last year. Plus, it’s conveniently located only two blocks from the Dupont Circle Metro station.
“We aim to deliver an exceptional and enchanting experience—something enjoyable and engaging that invites you to explore the neighborhood further,” said Michael Berman, president of Diverse Markets Management, which collaborates with the Dupont Circle Business Improvement District to operate the D.C. Holiday Market.
“This is the peak season for small businesses and vendors, and our mission is to provide a platform for them, nurturing these small enterprises into larger ventures is the essence of our work,” Berman stated.
This year’s market will feature more than 35 small businesses, and Berman encourages visitors to return multiple times as there will be an “exhibitor turnover” occurring on December 1st.
The D.C. Holiday Market is set to take place from November 14 to December 23, operating every day of the week, though it will be closed on November 27 and December 1.
For those seeking even more options, WTOP has compiled and mapped out over 30 additional markets in the region below:
