Three teenagers are facing serious charges for allegedly robbing two young individuals at gunpoint over a span of two days in March.
GERMANTOWN, Md. — Authorities have arrested three teens in connection with consecutive robberies that targeted young victims in early March.
The arrests followed an investigation by detectives from the Montgomery County Police’s 5th District, who responded to two separate incidents on March 4 and 5. On March 4, a teenage boy reported being followed from a business near Great Seneca Highway and Richter Farm Road. A group of suspects, armed with a knife, confronted him and demanded his belongings. The victim complied, handing over his possessions before the suspects fled the scene.
The following day, March 5, police were dispatched to the intersection of Great Seneca Highway and Mateny Road after another teen reported a similar robbery. This victim described being approached by two suspects at a park near Dairymaid Drive and Chalet Drive, where they threatened him and demanded his belongings. He also surrendered his items, and the suspects quickly left the area.
On April 8, detectives charged three teens from Germantown in relation to these robberies.
Two 16-year-olds, one male and one female, were charged as adults with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and theft. A 14-year-old boy was charged as a juvenile with the same offenses, and his case has been referred to the Department of Juvenile Services, according to police reports.
The 16-year-old boy also faced juvenile charges for robbery, second-degree assault, and theft related to the March 5 incident. The 14-year-old boy received similar charges, as confirmed by the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
The 16-year-old girl was arrested on April 7 under an active warrant and is currently being held at the Central Processing Unit. The 16-year-old boy was already in custody for a separate charge when a warrant related to the robberies was executed on April 8.
Additionally, the 16-year-old girl has been charged in connection with another armed robbery that took place on March 11 at a business located in the 18200 block of Flower Hill Way in Gaithersburg. This particular investigation is being conducted by the MCPD’s 6th District Investigative Section.
