Share

Germantown, MD — With a potential snowstorm forecasted to impact Montgomery County, the Victims’ Rights Foundation is urgently calling on the Germantown community to donate new winter coats for children in need.

The organization has launched a 48-hour emergency coat drive to collect warm winter coats for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Donations are being accepted at the UpCounty HUB, located at 12900 Middlebrook Road in Germantown.

A press conference and community donation event will take place at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, at the UpCounty HUB, highlighting the critical need to ensure local children stay warm during winter weather.

This Germantown coat drive is supported by the Peter B. Teeley Children’s Charity Foundation and builds on the Victims’ Rights Foundation’s 30-year mission of supporting children and families facing hardship.

All donated winter coats will be distributed directly to children through the UpCounty HUB. The deadline to donate is close of business on Friday, January 23.

Community members are encouraged to act quickly to help protect children from the cold as winter conditions approach.
