MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — An off-duty agent from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was involved in a road rage incident on Saturday morning that resulted in him being pepper-sprayed by another driver. The Maryland State Police (MSP) is currently investigating the altercation, which occurred around 8:30 a.m.
According to reports, the incident began when the ICE agent was driving on I-495 and a black BMW cut in front of him, abruptly braking. The two drivers subsequently pulled over, leading to a confrontation.
While police have not disclosed specific details about the interaction, an ICE spokesperson confirmed that their agent was pepper-sprayed during the incident. “The men and women of ICE are entrusted with upholding the rule of law and are held to the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct,” the spokesperson stated.
MSP indicated that two men were involved in the incident, but as of now, no arrests have been made. The Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office is collaborating with MSP to further investigate the matter.
