Get Ready for the Biggest ‘No Kings Day’ Protest Yet: Your Ultimate Guide to the Third National Event!

Share

This Saturday will see the third nationwide No Kings protest. If the registered events are any indication, this could become the most significant day of political protest in the history of the United States.

The No Kings event in October 2025 attracted approximately 7 million participants across the country, with over 2,700 rallies organized in all 50 states as a strong statement against President Donald Trump’s perceived authoritarian and corrupt practices. Seventeen rallies have been scheduled in Baltimore and its nearby areas, with numerous others set to take place throughout Maryland. Notably, the rally in Columbia attracted more than 6,000 attendees at Symphony Woods, championing the slogan, “No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.”

In the time since, Trump and members of his administration have been involved in various controversies. These include issuing presidential pardons to 77 individuals linked to the “fake electors” scheme aimed at undermining the 2020 election, such as Rudy Giuliani and Mark Meadows; attempting to legally obtain voter ballots from the 2020 election through a lawsuit initiated by the Department of Justice, and subsequently conducting a raid to seize these ballots. The situation escalated further when two innocent citizens of Minneapolis, Renée Good and Alex Pretti, lost their lives during protests against I.C.E.’s actions in their city; following these events, Trump sought to access Minnesota’s voter rolls from Governor Tim Walz. Most controversially, he called for the “nationalization” of elections.

Moreover, Trump has taken drastic actions, including a demolition of the East Wing of the White House. He received the new “FIFA Peace Prize” and proceeded to launch airstrikes in Venezuela, resulting in the capture and incarceration of its president, Nicolás Maduro, along with his wife, Cilia Flores. Trump has also continued to advocate policies that retrogress voting rights, including an ambitious proposal known as the SAVE Act.

The upcoming No Kings protest on March 28 will coincide with exactly one month since Trump allied with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in conducting airstrikes in Iran. This action has been criticized for potentially leading the nation into war without Congressional authorization, which many argue is unconstitutional.

Given the extensive nature of these incidents and Trump’s plummeting approval ratings, which stand at only 36% according to a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll, there are strong expectations that Saturday’s protests will be the most significant yet.

As of now, 15 rallies have been officially planned for Saturday, March 28, throughout Baltimore City and its surrounding area, as indicated on the No Kings website. Here is a breakdown of some of the key events.

BALTIMORE CITY

Baltimore City will host at least three No Kings events, strategically timed to accommodate participants throughout the day. The first is a No Kings Baltimore City rally from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 101 Gay St. Following this, a No Kings, No Wars rally will be held at Hopkins Plaza from 1 to 3 p.m. After a break in the afternoon, the day will conclude with a Pro-Democracy Dance Party at Baltimore Penn Station, where attendees can revel in music and celebrations, asserting their freedom against authoritarianism. This event is backed by Allies for Democracy and the Golden Dance Experiment, featuring DJs and popular tunes.

YORK ROAD FREE SPEECH MILES (TOWSON)

This event will be a peaceful gathering along York Road in Towson, combining sign-waving and a donation drive from 12 to 1:30 p.m. More than 2,000 participants are anticipated for this gathering, organized by Indivisible Baltimore County. It will commence at the intersection of Gittings Avenue and continue north towards Cross Campus Drive and the Towson Circle, stretching across multiple miles and three ZIP codes (21212, 21204, and 21286), thereby crossing the city-county line.

Throughout the event, there will be several donation drop-off stations set up to collect food and essential items for local families and students in need. Donations will benefit organizations such as GEDCO Cares Food Pantry, Baltimore County Student Support Network, and individuals across both Baltimore County and City. Among the most requested items are canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, peanut butter, shelf-stable milk, hygiene products (like soap and toothpaste), and diapers.

WE THE PEOPLE RALLY (COLUMBIA)

Coordinated by Indivisible Howard County, Columbia Democratic Club, Ellicott City & Western Howard County Democratic Club, and Howard County MD Young Democrats, this event will feature a mixture of rallying, marching, and sign-waving starting at 1 p.m. The gathering will begin at the Chrysalis near Merriweather Post Pavilion, where both elected officials and citizens will emphasize the importance of safeguarding their rights and democracy. Live music will also entertain attendees.

Following the rally, participants can either march directly or walk along with the crowd, proceeding around the perimeter of Merriweather, concluding with a sign-waving session at the intersection of Broken Land Parkway and Little Patuxent Parkway, which is expected to wrap up around 4 p.m. Additional activities, including a kids’ table and a food drive benefiting Columbia Community Care, will also take place. Further details can be found at Indivisible Howard County’s Facebook page.
